Monohulls, catamarans and motor yachts
Primarily there are three types of yachts: monohull sailing yachts, catamarans and motor yachts. But even within those categories there are many different styles of charter vessels which we are happy to describe and discuss with you - something to suit everyone.
All of the yachts recommended by Marlow Worldwide Yacht Charters are fully crewed. On the smaller yachts, there will always be at least two highly qualified crew members, usually a captain and cook/stewardess with many more on the larger and more luxurious ones.
Sailing yachts offer a true sailing experience. To many, there is no better feeling in the world than and hoisting the sails, cutting the engine and gliding through the waves with just the sounds of the lapping water and the canvas moving in the breeze. It can be tranquil and relaxing, or utterly exciting.
Sailing yachts can be sedate or designed and equipped for more performance. At the top of the range, sailing yachts offer the facilities and level of service expected of a superyacht.
Catamarans have two hulls, making them easier to maintain a level sailing platform - ideal for families and those who might be less comfortable on a monohull sailing yacht which will heel over. And catamarans are popular as they can navigate shallower waters.
Traditionally catamarans do have sails, although power-cats are becoming increasingly popular.
Motor yachts are powerful, versatile vessels, and not wind-dependent. Most are
equipped with stabilisers, which make them comfortable in choppy sea conditions. Generally, they are blessed with numerous deck areas such a sun deck often featuring a hot tub.
Many motor (and larger) yachts will have gourmet galleys, and you may even be lucky enough to find yourself onboard with a Michelin-starred, restaurant-trained chef.
