Who we are
Marlow Worldwide Yacht Charters Ltd is an independent yacht charter broker and owned by Liz Marlow, a well-respected name in the yacht charter world. We are a small company that relies very much on the personal touch with its clients. There is no large, corporate booking team; you deal directly with Liz. You’ll benefit from her extensive connections and vast knowledge of charter yachts and destinations. Importantly, we will only recommend professionally run yachts which are represented by the most reputable yacht management companies.
Where we charter
Fully crewed yachts are available to charter in many parts of the world. The Caribbean including the Bahamas is still a favourite destination for those seeking sun and warm waters in the winter months. In the summer, the Mediterranean, from the western European end to the exotic shores of Turkey and Greece. We can also arrange charters in more remote spots, such as the Norway fjords or the South Pacific.
As an independent yacht charter broker, we recommend a range of luxury charter yachts with crew to meet your specific requirements. This might be elegant classic yachts, roomy catamarans, sleek performance sailing yachts or impressive motor yachts from surprisingly modest charter rates to the very high end expensive mega yachts.
Finding the right boat for you
We try to make the booking process as simple as possible. It will normally start with a telephone conversation where you can discuss all aspects of the charter and your specific requirements. Before you get in touch, there are a few points to ponder:
- Your dream destination, the type of yacht you want to charter, and an idea of the dates you wish to travel.
- The number of guests and their ages. Are there couples, children, single adults? This is important to ensure the yachts recommended have a suitable cabin arrangement.
- The budget you have in mind.
- Any specific activities that you want to take advantage of during your charter, or amenities that you wish to see onboard.
- Any special event or celebration.
Then, together, we’ll go over everything you require. We’ll talk about the people in your charter party, their ages – some yachts will not charter with young children, but most will. And for elderly people, there are some yachts which are better for less agile individuals. Are you water-sport mad, or party people….or both?
The booking process
Based on what you tell me, I’ll be able to present a short-list of suitable yachts especially for you. There will be brief information about each boat, the charter rate and links to web brochures with all the amenities aboard and crew profiles. I have access to hundreds of yachts currently chartering but will only present to you those which suit your needs and are available for the dates you’ve indicated. It’s quite possible that during this early stage your idea of what you need may change – but that’s okay as it’s a learning, evolving process. Along the way I’ll be pointing out to you the full costs involved.
Also at this early stage in the planning we will discuss a potential itinerary and I will be able to advise on the best ports of embarkation and disembarkation to fit in with your possible travel schedule.
When you’ve chosen your charter yacht we’ll reconfirm availability with that yachts Central Agent and then go to the contract stage for which your full name and address are required. There are different types of charter agreement depending on the yacht you’ve chosen. Usually, I work with either the Charter Yacht Brokers Association (CYBA) or the Mediterranean Yacht Charter Brokers (MYBA) agreements. Both are e-contracts bearing unique contract numbers.
The charter agreement will detail the full terms and conditions of the charter. It specifies the charter dates with the ports of boarding and disembarkation, the charter rate, payment schedule and a whole load of other essential information such as cancellation policy, insurance and other important details. It is essential to carefully review and understand the agreement before signing.
To confirm the booking, you will be required to sign the agreement and return all pages to me. Once the agreement is signed by the Owner you will be required to submit a deposit - usually this is of 50% of the charter fee. All payments should be made by you, the Principal Charterer, by wire transfer. We do not accept credit card payments. The balance of the charter fee and any extra costs if applicable will be paid for in a second instalment six weeks prior to the charter date.
Once the charter is confirmed, we might need to go over the itinerary in a bit more detail and involve the Yacht Captain for their recommendations. In the charter itinerary we’ll be including the places you want to visit and shore excursions as well as activities such as water-sports.
We will also discuss your food and drinks preferences for the trip. This will enable the Chef to plan and provision according to your requirements. It will be important to know if any members of your charter party have any dietary requirements such as food allergies or if you have any particularly favourite foods and drinks. The menu each day is a set menu although it does allow for significant variation for guests who have different food tastes and requirements for example gluten free, seafood allergy, vegan etc.
You’ll be given advice on what to pack, meeting arrangements/transfers will be taken care of, and any last-minute requests or questions will be dealt with.
After your charter, when you get home I’ll be in touch again to hear your comments about the trip, the yacht and the crew. Ensuring that my clients are happy with their charter is extremely important to me and getting your feedback is always helpful.

Liz understands the need to relax and take a luxurious, stress-free break from the daily grind. Having spent many years working in high-pressure environments in London’s corporate banking and recruitment sectors, she took the opportunity of a twelve-month sabbatical from her job to embark on a year-long sailing adventure to the Caribbean. When she sailed into Antigua, she settled and within a short time established her charter business. Liz is now based back in the UK but still travels the world to see first-hand the charter yachts and meet their crew.
Liz has over twenty-five years of experience as a charter broker running her own company. Over the years, she has arranged luxury crewed yacht vacations for hundreds of clients, many of whom return, year after year. This is a testament to her attention to detail, knowledge of the yachting industry, and her desire to provide a top-class service to every client.

Marlow Worldwide Yacht Charters Ltd is owned and operated by Liz Marlow, who has over 25 years’ experience as an independent yacht charter broker. Now in the UK and based in Poole, Dorset, Liz established her business in Antigua in the Eastern Caribbean. She lived in Antigua for many years and gathered specific knowledge of chartering in the Caribbean - one of the prime yacht charter destinations each winter season.
As well as the Caribbean, her experience of arranging private yacht charters also covers the West Mediterranean, the East Mediterranean (Greece and Turkey) and the Bahamas.
