Late Summer Charters in the Med

Four destinations for a late summer charter in the Med

After the peak summer season, when the kids are back at school and the crowds have diminished the Mediterranean is a perfect destination for a late summer yacht charter. The weather remains dry usually well into October and the temperatures will be a bit lower and much more comfortable. Another good thing about chartering out of the high season is that charter rates come back down to the lower summer rates.

But where? The Med is a massively varied geographical area of beautiful landscapes and islands, craggy coastlines and sandy beaches. And the many different charter areas each give their own styles of chic, quaintness and sophistication: picturesque coastal towns and villages, sophisticated marinas and harbours, quaint fishing ports and endless fascinating historic sites. And then there’s the variety food!

South of France

The South of France combines glamorous resorts with picturesque anchorages and charming coastal villages. Explore St Tropez, Cannes and Antibes, stroll colourful markets, dine in Michelin-starred restaurants or relax on secluded beaches. Crystal-clear waters, excellent water-sports and vibrant nightlife make the French Riviera an unforgettable luxury charter destination.

Italy

Italy offers an irresistible blend of spectacular scenery, history and world-renowned cuisine. Cruise the glamorous Amalfi Coast, discover the colourful villages of Cinque Terre and the Italian Riviera, explore the volcanic Aeolian Islands or visit the beautiful islands of Sardinia and Sicily. Enjoy authentic restaurants, fascinating archaeological sites and stunning swimming anchorages.

Greece

With over 6,000 islands and islets, Greece is a paradise for yacht charters. Discover whitewashed villages, ancient ruins and peaceful bays with crystal-clear waters. Swim, snorkel and dine in traditional waterfront tavernas while exploring the Cyclades, Ionian Islands, Dodecanese or Saronic Gulf, each offering its own unique character.

Turkey

Turkey's Turquoise Coast is renowned for its dramatic scenery, secluded coves and warm hospitality. Cruise between Göcek, Marmaris and Bodrum, visiting ancient Lycian ruins, bustling bazaars and charming fishing villages. Enjoy excellent cuisine, crystal-clear waters, water-sports and peaceful anchorages surrounded by pine-clad mountains.

Just looking through availability, for what might be now a relatively short-notice charter, the choice is pretty good in most areas with a selection of sailing yachts, catamarans and motor yachts at varying price levels.

Please give me a call, or email, if you would like to hear more about the areas described and any others not mentioned. I’ll happily advise on easiest ports of embarkation and put together specific itineraries to suit you.
